- Cultural Touring
This tour highlights Cambodia's best-known sites beginning in the charming colonial capital of Phnom Penh. We visit the acclaimed Cambodian National Museum, which was built in 1920 of native sandstone and showcases many fine examples of Angkor Wat statuary. Then, we review a sobering chapter of Cambodia’s more recent past at the "Killing Fields" of the Khmer Rouge. After two days at in Phnom Penh, we’re off to explore the World Heritage Site of Angkor, an incredible complex of temples and ruins that was once the bustling center of the Khmer empire. A testament to the most powerful ancient civilization in Southeast Asia, these remaining temples and monuments echo its former political and spiritual influence. Fine Khmer art and architecture abound at Angkor and their magnificence amazes at every turn.
