Explore the four major biomes of Mongolia: Taiga, Gobi, Central Steppe and Altai, the lifeways of the Mongolian people and their integration with indigenous animals - especially the horse on this comprehensive 17-day Mongolian odyssey. We will use Ulaanbaatar as a point of departure and make excursions into each of the country's major ecosystems. The Asian Steppe region in country’s middle is where most people have built a nomadic lifestyle as horsemen and ranchers. We will explore the country's Taiga, Gobi and Altia in its borderlands. The final leg of the journey will take us to the Mongolia's far west Altai to experience the planet's 2008 Solar Eclipse on August 1st.
