- Trekking
One of the world's legendary treks, this 300-mile route leads through the villages of many diverse ethnic groups as well as highland and lowland ecosystems. You will circumnavigate the entire Annapurna range, which extends 64 miles from east to west and soars to an elevation over 20,000 feet. Your path traverses subtropical rice fields, deciduous and alpine forests, windswept high passes, rain shadow deserts, and the Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest on earth. You will encounter Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims at the holy shrine of Muktinath; Thakali and Manang traders on the trails; and the lower elevation farming peoples of the Brahmin, Chhetri, Gurung, and Magar groups.
